Be The Light

"For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light!" Ephesians 5:8

This year one of my main new year resolutions was to be a light to everyone I meet or can share the gospel with. I have stuck to it every chance I've have got. We were created to let our lights shine to everyone we meet. This year go above and beyond to show everyone the kindness of Christ. If you seem different to some people that's okay. We as christians are meant to stand out, we are meant to share the gospel every chance we get. If you think about it the disciples did, they were so called "different" but they were the main light of Christ because they were close with him all the time. They began to be like him, same with us when we grow closer to Christ. We are now the disciples of Christ. We're the ones God created to show everyone how amazing our living God is. Today go the extra mile to help someone, to smile at a stranger, to give someone good advice, to be there for someone in need, even to just show a little more kindness. Show them that the real light of the world changes you into someone that is much more patient, loving, and more kind. If you have Jesus inside of you and you're growing closer to him you'll begin to notice you start to change on the inside. You begin to be more like him, all for the good. Here are some verses to reflect on today. "But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patiences, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!" Galatians 5:22-23 "Then Jesus said to the disciples, "Have faith in God." Mark 11:22

Wait Patiently!

“Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.” Psalms‬ ‭27:14‬ ‭ If God is making you wait, then wait patiently. Nothing in the waiting is a waste. I remember a time in my life where I was praying for something, I waited years and seem to receive no answer. I waited and waited. Somedays I was impatient and cried all day, other days I waited with patience of steel and praised God for what I knew I would someday receive. Sometimes the waiting is easy, other times it is an uphill battle. Whenever we are waiting we will go through different seasons, but we can count on the fact that God is at work for us. The waiting is important and a lesson is somewhere in the midst. Today, whatever it is God is having you wait for know that the season of waiting is often a time you look back on as a blessing. Don't Forget God!

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” Philippians‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭ Don't forget God when you receive what you are praying for. God knows the things that we want the most, and often times He does give us what we want. When God does give us the things we want we have to stop and give thanks. It's like this, if you give someone a gift that you know they have really been wanting, something they will absolutely love, and they don't even say thank you it would hurt your feelings. It would make you feel like they don't appreciate you. If someone asked how they got the gift and they said they got it for themselves it would make you hurt also. When God gives us what we are praying for we need to shout from the rooftops that God done it for us, that He made a way. We need to thank God, telling everyone about it.
