Be Slow To Anger.
"And "don't sin by letting anger control you." Don't let the sun go down while you are still angry, for anger gives a foothold to the devil." Ephesians 4:26-27
Let's be honest, we all tend to get angry. At times it's over the smallest things that just set us off, maybe it's just the way someones attitude is towards us or the way someone looks at us. If we're trying to be the best christians possible we have to work on not letting anger get in the way of who we are meant to be. There is a good time to be angry and there's a bad time. Such as, Jesus got angry because they were turning what was supposed to be God's house into a marketplace. We should get angry for things of good. People having to be homeless should anger us, or children starving, people not getting to know Christ because their country doesn't allow teachings of it, someone being mistreated, theses are all things that should anger us. We all have fallen short of God's glory. We all sin daily, God forgives us. We should also try to take a hold on our anger. My husband and I made a deal where we will never go to bed mad at each other, even if it means staying up until 4am to talk through the problem, we still don't fall asleep angry. This is how we should be towards even a stranger. Next time you feel the need to be quickly angered, try to be a little more patient. Maybe the person who upset you was having a bad day, or didn't mean what they said or how they said it because they were upset themselves. Try to be more kind. Here are some verses to reflect on today. "Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry." James 1:19 "Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. Instead be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you." Ephesians 4:31-32
