Don't Let Temptation Stop You.
"The seeds on the rocky soil represent those who hear the message and receive it with joy. But since they don't have deep roots, they believe for a while, then they fall away when they face temptation." Luke 8:13
There is a part of this verse that really stuck out to me, it's the part that said 'They believe for a while, then they fall away when they face temptation.' If you think about it we all are guilty of doing this, when God tells us something and we hold to his promise, but the hard times come in, the storm sets in, and we lose that faith and fall back into our bad patterns. We all have done it, even myself. I was so strong in my faith at one point, I read my bible everyday and done devotions, I later got to where it was every other, maybe a week, maybe a month and drifted from what I knew I needed to be doing, I then hit a hard time and knew I had to get back on track. I know life is busy, and we all have things we have to do, but we must cling to God. I read a quote the other day that stated, "Don't forget God when you get what you are praying for." We can't forget. We can't lose hope, when we are on the right path we can't let temptation and being 'too busy' take our faith and God's promises away. No matter how busy. you are today, take some time and pray. Remember God didn't forget to wake you up this morning, so don't forget to tell him about your day. He wants to hear all about it, even though he knows all he wants to have a conversation with you. It's like when we get home from school as kids our parents would ask how our day was, or what we done, they wasn't doing it to bother or annoy you, they do it because the want to be apart of our lives. They want us to be able to talk to them. Same way with God he just wants to be close to him so we can't fall off and make bad choices. Take time to think what would Jesus do? Follow God, don't let emotion change what you know to be true. Here are some verses to reflect to. "Since he himself has gone through suffering and testing, he is able to help us when we are being tested." Hebrews 2:18 "Temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are temped, he will show you a way out so that you may endure." 1 Corinthians 10:13 "Temptations come form our own desires, which entice us and drag us away." James 1:14 "And don't yield to temptation, but rescue us from the evil one." Matthew 6:13
