Don't Be Selfish!

"Don't be selfish; don't try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves." Philippians 3:5

This verse is something we could use in our daily lives. We can learn to be less selfish, and focus more on how we can help others, and help the world. When we put others before ourselves we are showing our love for Christ. We have to be true servants of Christ, learning to not boast of ourselves our our won works but the works Christ has done in and through us. We are meant to be vessels of Christ. Today focus more on being a vessel, humbling yourselves before God. Thinking of others as better than you and not having an attitude where you think you're better than everyone around you. We are no better than the person next to us, we all have our own purposes. Here are some verses to reflect on. "For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him." Philippians 2:13 "Yes, you should rejoice, and I will share you joy." Philippians 2:18 "All this is for your benefit. And God's grace reaches more and more people, there will be great thanksgiving, and God will receive more and more glory." 2 Corinthians 4:15 "Give me an eagerness for your laws rather than a love for money!" Psalms 119:36

Wait Patiently!

“Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.” Psalms‬ ‭27:14‬ ‭ If God is making you wait, then wait patiently. Nothing in the waiting is a waste. I remember a time in my life where I was praying for something, I waited years and seem to receive no answer. I waited and waited. Somedays I was impatient and cried all day, other days I waited with patience of steel and praised God for what I knew I would someday receive. Sometimes the waiting is easy, other times it is an uphill battle. Whenever we are waiting we will go through different seasons, but we can count on the fact that God is at work for us. Don't Forget God!

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” Philippians‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭ Don't forget God when you receive what you are praying for. God knows the things that we want the most, and often times He does give us what we want. When God does give us the things we want we have to stop and give thanks. It's like this, if you give someone a gift that you know they have really been wanting, something they will absolutely love, and they don't even say thank you it would hurt your feelings. It would make you feel like they don't appreciate you. If someone asked how they got the gift and they said they got it for themselves it would make you hurt also.
