God Can Only Fill Your Desires.

"Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart's desires." Psalms 37:4

You'll never be satisfied with the world, it's like eating junk food and trying to get it to fill your stomach up, when what your body is really craving is a good meal. I'm not against junk food, I eat it way more than I should, but there are times when your body needs a meal not a snack. The Bible tells us we can't live on bread alone, we have to have God's spirit too. When we are desiring things the world tells us it can give us what we want. That money can make us happy and satisfied, that a few sins won't hurt we will finally fill that void we feel in our hearts, that what we are really desiring is "found in the world." Next time you feel this thought enter your head remember that you can't be filled up by the junk food when what you need is the never ending supply of a feast. God can fill all the desires of your heart. The Bible tells us in the book of Isaiah "Is anyone thirsty? Come and drink- even if you have no money! Come, take your choice of wine or milk-- it's all free!" Isaiah 55:1. That's how God feels about us, he wants to fill us with all the desires and thirst we have so we don't have to go to the world for our needs. Put your trust in Jesus to fulfill your desires not the world. Here are some verses to reflect on today. "Human anger does not produce the righteousness God desires." James 1:20 "Temptation comes from when our own desires, which entice us and drag us down." James 1:14 "Wherever you treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be." Matthew 6:21 "For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him." Philippians 2:13 "Don't envy people or desire their company." Proverbs 24:1

Wait Patiently!

“Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.” Psalms‬ ‭27:14‬ ‭ If God is making you wait, then wait patiently. Nothing in the waiting is a waste. I remember a time in my life where I was praying for something, I waited years and seem to receive no answer. I waited and waited. Somedays I was impatient and cried all day, other days I waited with patience of steel and praised God for what I knew I would someday receive. Sometimes the waiting is easy, other times it is an uphill battle. Whenever we are waiting we will go through different seasons, but we can count on the fact that God is at work for us. Don't Forget God!

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” Philippians‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭ Don't forget God when you receive what you are praying for. God knows the things that we want the most, and often times He does give us what we want. When God does give us the things we want we have to stop and give thanks. It's like this, if you give someone a gift that you know they have really been wanting, something they will absolutely love, and they don't even say thank you it would hurt your feelings. It would make you feel like they don't appreciate you. If someone asked how they got the gift and they said they got it for themselves it would make you hurt also.
