What Love Is All About.

"Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud." 1 Corinthians 13:4

Relationships are difficult, it's hard to be patient when they make you really angry. Trust me, my husband and I have had plenty of arguments that I've wanted to just go off of my feelings and be rude, but I remind myself to be patient think through what I'm feeling and then speak about how I'm feeling. As a child I heard a saying a lot of, "Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me", looking back as I got older that saying was far from true. I am a very sensitive person, I will admit, but anyone can be hurt by words. If a random stranger were to walk up to you and start to insult you, that would ruin your day. Remember your words can hurt someone especially in a relationship. If you want your partner to be patient with you, kind with you, and understanding you must do those in return. You can't expect to put 20 percent in and get 80 percent back. That isn't how it works, same with your relationship with God. You can't put a little in and expect God to do miracles when you've not spoken to him in weeks. You have to be close to God, you have to work for your relationship with Him even more than our earthly ones. The person you're actually spending eternity with is God. Love is sacrifice, God sacrificed his one and only son for our sins. You have to be self-less in every aspect in your life, you have to be willing to give your all in earthly relationships, and your relationship with God. Be more patient with the people in your life, and be kind with your words. Here are some verses to reflect on today. "Three things will last forever- faith, hope and love-- and the greatest of these is love." 1 Corinthians 13:13 "Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior." Ephesians 4:31 "But don't just listen to God's word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves." James 1:22 "Wise words are like a good meal; the right words bring satisfaction." Proverbs 18:20
