You Can Always Come Home.

"Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world." James 4:8

This is something that we have all heard, but I personally never get tired of hearing, that is that we are never too far from God to turn around and him to be with us. I even myself have been in places in my life where I wasn't as close to God as I needed to be, but every time I found myself in that place God was not far away, He was right there waiting for me to come back to Him. There's a story in the Bible I'm sure most of you have read,  the man had two sons, he divided his wealth between the sons. The younger one went to a distant land and wasted all his money, he began to starve so he got a job with a local farmer and he worked in the fields with the pigs. He was so hungry that he even ate what the pigs were eating, when he finally came to his senses he went home to his father. He headed home with a humble attitude, he planned to go up to his father saying, "Please take me on and hire me as a servant." His father seen in him the distance and began to run to him, filled with love and compassion he ran to embraced him. That's exactly how God is for us, no matter how far we ran, how much sin we done while distant from Him, He doesn't judge us right then. He embraces us and forgives us. He just wants us home. It's also like the story in the Bible of the one sheep going missing and the shepherd leaving the ninety-nine to go find the one. No matter how far we roam, God will leave the ninety-nine to find us. He wants us to come home to him, to have a relationship with him. He wants to bless us with the finest things as Christians. No matter how far you've gone from God you can always come home. Here are some verses to reflect on today. "But his father said to the servants, 'Quick! Bring the finest robe in the house and put it on him. Get a ring for his finger and sandals for his feet." Luke 15:22 "If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them gets lost, what will he do? Won't he leave the ninety-nine others in the wilderness and go to search for the one that is lose until he finds it?" Luke 15:4 "Then he said to the man of God, "Come home with me and eat some food." 1 Kings 13:15 "No evil will conquer you; no plague will come near your home." Psalms 91:10 "Therefore, go and give this message to Israel. This is what the Lord says: "O Israel, my faithless people, come home to me again, for I am merciful. I will not be angry with you forever." Jeremiah 3:12
