We Are Made To Be Kind.

"Love means doing what God has commanded us, and he has commanded us to love one another, just as you heard from the beginning." 2 John 1:6

People refer to treating others as we want to be treated as the "Golden rule." We should defiantly use this in our daily lives. God has really been dealing with me about how we treat others and how it's the way we show God's love. If someone treats you badly or with hatred we will assume that they aren't Christian because that's not how Jesus would treat them, right? We aren't here to be rude and disrespectful to others, we are here to be the hands and feet of Jesus, to show people how much God loves them through us. Your light shines when you help those in need, and when you're being kind no matter how the other person treats you. We should never treat someone poorly just because they are treating us that way, your kindness shouldn't depend on their attitude. Treat people the way you want them to treat you, not how they are currently treating you. Kindness is something each of us needs all year round. I've noticed people are so much nicer at Christmas, but we should be that way even in July, a holiday shouldn't be the only time we are kind. Here are some verses to reflect on today. "But — When God our savior revealed his kindness and love," Titus 3:4 "The Lord is righteous in everything he does; he is filled with kindness." Psalms 145:17 "When she speaks her words are wise, and she gives instructions with kindness." Proverbs 31:26 "now that you have had a taste of the Lord's kindness." 1 Peter 2:3 "I don't say this because I want a gift from you. Rather, I want you to receive a reward for your kindness." Philippians 4:17
