If We Are Truly Righteous.
“My conscience is clear, but that doesn’t prove I’m right. It is the Lord himself who will examine me and decide.”1 Corinthians 4:4
We think we are right with God, that we are doing all the right things and that we are righteous, but that doesn’t always mean that we are. See God is who examines our hearts and souls and sees if we are truly righteous. We can’t go to Heaven by good works alone. We can never do enough good things to make it into Heaven, that is why Jesus came and died on the cross 2,000 years ago. If we could go to Heaven by good works alone why would Jesus have come? Why would we need a Savior? We spend so much time trying to be independent we forget we need to learn to be dependent on God! You’re not supposed to figure it all out, because God already has. We don’t find righteousness because righteousness found us 2,000 years ago at Calvary on the Cross. Today pray and ask Jesus to show you what you need to change about yourself to be truly righteous in Him. Here are some verses to reflect on today. “For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of what we eat or drink, but of living a life of goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.” Romans 14:17 “But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.” Romans 5:8 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.” Proverbs 3:5 “Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me.” Psalms 51:10
