If We Are Truly Righteous.

“My conscience is clear, but that doesn’t prove I’m right. It is the Lord himself who will examine me and decide.”1 Corinthians‬ ‭4:4‬ ‭

We think we are right with God, that we are doing all the right things and that we are righteous, but that doesn’t always mean that we are. See God is who examines our hearts and souls and sees if we are truly righteous. We can’t go to Heaven by good works alone. We can never do enough good things to make it into Heaven, that is why Jesus came and died on the cross 2,000 years ago. If we could go to Heaven by good works alone why would Jesus have come? Why would we need a Savior? We spend so much time trying to be independent we forget we need to learn to be dependent on God! You’re not supposed to figure it all out, because God already has. We don’t find righteousness because righteousness found us 2,000 years ago at Calvary on the Cross. Today pray and ask Jesus to show you what you need to change about yourself to be truly righteous in Him. Here are some verses to reflect on today. “For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of what we eat or drink, but of living a life of goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.” Romans‬ ‭14:17‬ ‭ “But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.” Romans‬ ‭5:8‬ ‭ “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.”‭‭ Proverbs‬ ‭3:5‬ ‭ “Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me.” Psalms‬ ‭51:10‬ ‭

Wait Patiently!

“Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.” Psalms‬ ‭27:14‬ ‭ If God is making you wait, then wait patiently. Nothing in the waiting is a waste. I remember a time in my life where I was praying for something, I waited years and seem to receive no answer. I waited and waited. Somedays I was impatient and cried all day, other days I waited with patience of steel and praised God for what I knew I would someday receive. Sometimes the waiting is easy, other times it is an uphill battle. Whenever we are waiting we will go through different seasons, but we can count on the fact that God is at work for us. Don't Forget God!

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” Philippians‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭ Don't forget God when you receive what you are praying for. God knows the things that we want the most, and often times He does give us what we want. When God does give us the things we want we have to stop and give thanks. It's like this, if you give someone a gift that you know they have really been wanting, something they will absolutely love, and they don't even say thank you it would hurt your feelings. It would make you feel like they don't appreciate you. If someone asked how they got the gift and they said they got it for themselves it would make you hurt also.
