Peace, Be Still.

"As they sailed across, Jesus settled down for a nap. But soon a fierce storm came down on the lake. The boat was filling with water, and they were in real danger." Luke 8:23

Notice this verse says that Jesus was sleeping through the storm, see the reason Jesus could sleep so peacefully through it all is that He knew where His peace came from and He knew that He was in control. We would be able to be a lot happier and sleep better if we would realize that God is in control and He is where our peace comes from. It doesn't matter how big the storm looks that we are in or headed to if we know where our peace is found we will never lose it. The next part of this story tells of how Jesus spoke, "Peace, be still" in any circumstance of your life Jesus can do this too. He doesn't have to figure out a jigsaw puzzle to give you peace or to calm the storm, all He has to do is speak the words. When God was creating the heavens and the earth He didn't have to figure out how to build the earth or how to get it to spin in orbit, He spoke it and it happened. See we tend to forget that when God speaks things move, and we don't have to worry about life because we have the peacemaker as our Savior. We aren't here to worry about a future that God already has figured out, He is getting ready to speak peace into your storm, but for Him to do that you're going to have to trust Him. If we don't trust Him then how will we trust that He can speak peace into our lives? Today take a moment to pray and really trust God for what you're praying for, and He will always come through. Here are some verses to reflect on today. "Then he asked them, "Where is your faith?" The disciples were terrified and amazed. "Who is this man" they asked each other. "When he gives a command, even the wind and waves obey him!" Luke 8:25 "Suddenly, a fierce storm struck the lake, with waves breaking into the boat. But Jesus was sleeping." Matthew 8:24 "Jesus responded, "Why are you afraid? You have so little faith!" Then he got up and rebuked the wind and waves, and suddenly there was a great calm." Matthew 8:26 "Now may the Lord of peace himself give you his peace at all times and in every situation. The Lord be with you all." 2 Thessalonians 3:16
