Asking For A Sign.
“But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves.” James 1:22
I always in the past would ask God for signs to communicate with me, tell me what I needed to do, or just answer me, and that’s okay to do that, but we also need deeper communication sometimes, to just stop and listen to what He is telling us in our hearts. I always heard people say that God spoke to them, and I had never experienced that. I always would ask God to show me a sign somehow, and He would in a way for me to understand at that moment. This past year I’ve grown closer to God than I ever have been in my life, during this time I’ve also learned how to understand when God is speaking to me. I now can feel His words in my heart and I can truly understand them. It’s hard to explain and I understand why people always would tell me that now. If you can’t hear His voice yet or feel His words in your heart, that’s okay. Start with asking for signs until you build up to hearing His words or feeling them. When you ask God for a sign, or for Him to tell you something, don’t ignore it when He shows you or tells you it. So many times we ask for a sign, but it isn’t the answer that we wanted to hear, so we choose to ignore it. Today If you ask for a sign but it isn’t what you want to hear, then take it and use it for the good in life. Maybe what you wanted wasn't at all what you needed. If God says no, just know that He always has better than what you think you want. Here are some verses to reflect on today. “Wise words satisfy like a good meal; the right words bring satisfaction.” Proverbs 18:20 “But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted!” John 15:7 “The words of the godly are a life-giving fountain; the words of the wicked conceal violent intentions.” Proverbs 10:11 “But the word of the Lord remains forever.” And that word is the Good News that was preached to you.” 1 Peter 1:25
