Asking For A Sign.

“But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves.” James‬ ‭1:22‬ ‭

I always in the past would ask God for signs to communicate with me, tell me what I needed to do, or just answer me, and that’s okay to do that, but we also need deeper communication sometimes, to just stop and listen to what He is telling us in our hearts. I always heard people say that God spoke to them, and I had never experienced that. I always would ask God to show me a sign somehow, and He would in a way for me to understand at that moment. This past year I’ve grown closer to God than I ever have been in my life, during this time I’ve also learned how to understand when God is speaking to me. I now can feel His words in my heart and I can truly understand them. It’s hard to explain and I understand why people always would tell me that now. If you can’t hear His voice yet or feel His words in your heart, that’s okay. Start with asking for signs until you build up to hearing His words or feeling them. When you ask God for a sign, or for Him to tell you something, don’t ignore it when He shows you or tells you it. So many times we ask for a sign, but it isn’t the answer that we wanted to hear, so we choose to ignore it. Today If you ask for a sign but it isn’t what you want to hear, then take it and use it for the good in life. Maybe what you wanted wasn't at all what you needed. If God says no, just know that He always has better than what you think you want. Here are some verses to reflect on today. “Wise words satisfy like a good meal; the right words bring satisfaction.” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭18:20‬ ‭ “But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted!” John‬ ‭15:7‬ ‭ “The words of the godly are a life-giving fountain; the words of the wicked conceal violent intentions.” Proverbs‬ ‭10:11‬ ‭ “But the word of the Lord remains forever.” And that word is the Good News that was preached to you.” 1 Peter‬ ‭1:25‬ ‭

Wait Patiently!

“Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.” Psalms‬ ‭27:14‬ ‭ If God is making you wait, then wait patiently. Nothing in the waiting is a waste. I remember a time in my life where I was praying for something, I waited years and seem to receive no answer. I waited and waited. Somedays I was impatient and cried all day, other days I waited with patience of steel and praised God for what I knew I would someday receive. Don't Forget God!

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” Philippians‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭ Don't forget God when you receive what you are praying for. God knows the things that we want the most, and often times He does give us what we want. When God does give us the things we want we have to stop and give thanks. It's like this, if you give someone a gift that you know they have really been wanting, something they will absolutely love, and they don't even say thank you it would hurt your feelings. It would make you feel like they don't appreciate you. If someone asked how they got the gift and they said they got it for themselves it would make you hurt also. When God gives us what we are praying for we need to shout from the rooftops that God done it for us, that He made a way. We need to thank God, telling everyone about it.
