Be A Friend Who’s Thankful.
“A friend is always loyal, and a brother is born to help in time of need.” Proverbs 17:17
Today is Thanksgiving, and as we gather around our family and those we love, to eat and talk we should be thankful for those that we have to spend this time with. I thought a lot today about those who don't have someone to spend the day with or go eat with, and those who had to work today and didn't have to time to go see their loved ones. Sometimes we get so wrapped up in our own lives that we forget to think about others. The Bible teaches us that we should be kind to others. If you get a chance in the next couple of days spend time with someone you know who spent the day alone, take them to lunch, invite them over to just spend some time together, or even just go see them for a few minutes if that's all you can do. Let them know that they aren't alone and that they have someone who cares and is a friend to them. Be the light of Jesus in their lives and love them like Jesus would. Be the kind of friend that Jesus would be to them. Here are some verses to reflect on today. “There are “friends” who destroy each other, but a real friend sticks closer than a brother.” Proverbs 18:24 “The heartfelt counsel of a friend is as sweet as perfume and incense.” Proverbs 27:9 “As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend.”Proverbs 27:17 “This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you.” John 15:12
