Happiness Is Found In God!

 “The hopes of the godly result in happiness, but the expectations of the wicked come to nothing.”Proverbs‬ ‭10:28‬ ‭

Have you ever heard the expression “money can’t buy happiness!” Have you ever thought about how much God really paid for our happiness? I can promise you it was far more expensive than anything anyone owns in this world. He bought our happiness, peace, freedom and forgiveness on the cross 2,000 years ago. He came down in a manger and was born in what today would be a barn. He didn’t have toys, or money waiting for Him. He didn’t come as a King to take a thrown because He was already the King of the world without having a title here. Your happiness is never going to be found in a relationship, friendship, a new car, clothes, house or anything found on this earth. These things might make you happy for a moment but not forever. Happiness is knowing that the one who created you is also the one you get to serve everyday! You never have to worry about if you’ll be happy when you are here to be a servant of God. When God is your source of happiness you’ll never be sad. Life won’t always be easy, won’t always have the best things for you, but you know an eternal happiness awaits you! Today, remember that if you’re sad here on earth that your happiness is in God, not on earthly things. Your eternal happiness awaits you with Jesus! Here are some verses to reflect on today. “Joyful are people of integrity, who follow the instructions of the Lord.” Psalms‬ ‭119:1‬ ‭ “Those who listen to instruction will prosper; those who trust the Lord will be joyful.” Proverbs‬ ‭16:20‬ ‭ “No wonder my heart is glad, and I rejoice. My body rests in safety.” Psalms‬ ‭16:9‬ “Always be joyful.” 1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5:16‬ ‭‭

Wait Patiently!

“Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.” Psalms‬ ‭27:14‬ ‭ If God is making you wait, then wait patiently. Nothing in the waiting is a waste. I remember a time in my life where I was praying for something, I waited years and seem to receive no answer. I waited and waited. Somedays I was impatient and cried all day, other days I waited with patience of steel and praised God for what I knew I would someday receive. Sometimes the waiting is easy, other times it is an uphill battle. Whenever we are waiting we will go through different seasons, but we can count on the fact that God is at work for us. Don't Forget God!

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” Philippians‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭ Don't forget God when you receive what you are praying for. God knows the things that we want the most, and often times He does give us what we want. When God does give us the things we want we have to stop and give thanks. It's like this, if you give someone a gift that you know they have really been wanting, something they will absolutely love, and they don't even say thank you it would hurt your feelings. It would make you feel like they don't appreciate you. If someone asked how they got the gift and they said they got it for themselves it would make you hurt also.
