Shake The Dust Off!

"If any household or town refuses to welcome you or listen to your message. shake its dust from your feet as you leave." Matthew 10:14

Before this verse Jesus was telling the 12 discples to go out and tell of Him, to perform miracles, and to bless the homes they stay in. He says here if a city doesn't welcome you or your preaching of the message to shake the dust from your feet. We can use this in all aspects of our lives. When relationships don't go as planned, when friendships end, when we are hurt by others, or even when we tell people about Jesus but they choose to not listen to it, shake the dust off your feet and move on. You can't spend your whole life trying to hold a grudge against the past things, that ruin your own peace more than theirs. We think that letting go of the past lets the people that hurt you get away with it, but that isn't it, it's that you move on and move past it and leave the rest up to God. You're not here to get back at people for what they do, that's God's job to judge. You are here to tell them of Jesus and to love them the way He would. Don't spend your entire life trying to pay back people for the bad they have done, dust your feet off and walk away. You will never fulfill your purpose if you are constantly focused on everyone else and what they are doing. Your purpose is meant for you and no one else, they might be there to see it but you're the one living it. Here are some verses to reflect on today. “Heal the sick, raise the dead, cure those with leprosy, and cast out demons. Give as freely as you have received!” Matthew‬ ‭10:8‬ ‭ “Then he turned to the woman and said to Simon, “Look at this woman kneeling here. When I entered your home, you didn’t offer me water to wash the dust from my feet, but she has washed them with her tears and wiped them with her hair.” Luke‬ ‭7:44‬ ‭ “Rest in the shade of this tree while water is brought to wash your feet.”Genesis‬ ‭18:4‬ ‭ “He opened the heavens and came down; dark storm clouds were beneath his feet.” Psalms‬ ‭18:9‬ ‭
