Faith Like Simeon

“At that time there was a man in Jerusalem named Simeon. He was righteous and devout and was eagerly waiting for the Messiah to come and rescue Israel. The Holy Spirit was upon him” Luke‬ ‭2:25‬ ‭

Have you ever thought about this verse? See he waited his entire life to see Jesus, and he never gave up on God's promise all though there was no proof that the promise would come to pass he stood by the words God spoke to him. Imagine waiting years for Jesus to be born not knowing when or who would have Him but knowing He would come. That is faith. Simeon knew that God was true to His word, he knew that he had no reason to worry because what God spoke to him years ago God would do at the right time! We need to have faith like him, knowing that what God speaks God will do. The joy that he felt over meeting Jesus is the same joy we can get every day by having Jesus in our hearts. We never have to worry about when Jesus will come through for us because all that matters is He said He will, and if God says it He will do it no matter what. We always worry that God has forgotten about us, but the Bible, it clearly teaches us that He even remembers to feed the birds, so how could He forget us? He even says we shouldn’t worry about clothes, so if He can remember to feed the birds then God will never forget the promises He makes to us, He will always bring them to pass. Don't lose hope, hold on just as Siemon did for God will come through for you. ““And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing,” Matthew‬ ‭6:28‬ ‭ ““Sovereign Lord, now let your servant die in peace, as you have promised.” Luke‬ ‭2:29‬ ‭ “Then Simeon blessed them, and he said to Mary, the baby’s mother, “This child is destined to cause many in Israel to fall, and many others to rise. He has been sent as a sign from God, but many will oppose him.” Luke‬ ‭2:34‬ ‭ “As a result, the deepest thoughts of many hearts will be revealed. And a sword will pierce your very soul.”” Luke‬ ‭2:35‬
