Merry & Bright.

“John himself was not the light; he was simply a witness to tell about the light.” John‬ ‭1:8‬ ‭

We as Christians should be merry and bright all year round, we should become as bright as a Christmas tree with a smile on our faces and remember the joy that has been placed in our hearts. We are joyful because we have the joy of God. Remember in Sunday school as a kid we would all sing, "I've got the joy, joy, joy down in my heart." As we would sing we would all smile from ear to ear. That's the kind of happiness we should show from Jesus. The Bible teaches we must become like a child to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. We should become like a child with that joy for Jesus just as we use to be. I know life is difficult, and things bring us down and make us sad, and that's okay, but we have to remember that when life isn't good, God still is good! We have His love around us all the time. This Christmas season, be merry and bright to others, give to the homeless, and be there for the lonely, give to the less fortunate, be kind to the broke, smile at those who hurt you, and be kind to all. Here are some verses to reflect on today. “For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light!” ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭5:8‬ ‭ “Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow.” James‬ ‭1:17‬ ‭ “See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are! But the people who belong to this world don’t recognize that we are God’s children because they don’t know him.” 1 John‬ ‭3:1‬ ‭ “But Jesus said, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children.”” Matthew‬ ‭19:14‬ ‭
