Peace In The Storm!

“As they sailed across, Jesus settled down for a nap. But soon a fierce storm came down on the lake. The boat was filling with water, and they were in real danger.” Luke‬ ‭8:23‬ ‭

How many times in life do we not let the storms bother us? How many times do we sit back and say “We trust in Jesus!” See when the storm was headed for Jesus He knew it was coming, He didn’t let it phase Him because He knew the power in Jesus Name! We have to remind ourselves when the storms come that Jesus is with us though it all, when it feels like He’s sleeping not hearing our tears, cries, pain, troubles, anxieties and our feelings know at the right time He will calm the storm! He will save us! He will tell the storm “peace be still!” Know that whatever storm is in your life right now that the enemy has no more time than Jesus let’s it. The enemy might throw a few dodge balls at us, might let the storm rise but when Jesus stands for us nothing in all of creation can win! God is fighting your battles, He is calming your storm. Don’t let the enemy make you think it’s not possible, because God has you in the palm of His hands! Rest tonight, as Jesus did in the storm, knowing God has the power to speak peace! Here are some verses to reflect on today! “The disciples went and woke him up, shouting, “Master, Master, we’re going to drown!” When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and the raging waves. Suddenly the storm stopped and all was calm.” Luke‬ ‭8:24 ‬ ‭ “Then he asked them, “Where is your faith?” The disciples were terrified and amazed. “Who is this man?” they asked each other. “When he gives a command, even the wind and waves obey him!”” Luke‬ ‭8:25‬ ‭ “I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans‬ ‭15:13‬ ‭ ““God is powerful and dreadful. He enforces peace in the heavens.” ‭‭Job‬ ‭25:2‬ ‭

Wait Patiently!

“Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.” Psalms‬ ‭27:14‬ ‭ If God is making you wait, then wait patiently. Nothing in the waiting is a waste. I remember a time in my life where I was praying for something, I waited years and seem to receive no answer. I waited and waited. Somedays I was impatient and cried all day, other days I waited with patience of steel and praised God for what I knew I would someday receive. Sometimes the waiting is easy, other times it is an uphill battle. Whenever we are waiting we will go through different seasons, but we can count on the fact that God is at work for us. Don't Forget God!

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” Philippians‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭ Don't forget God when you receive what you are praying for. God knows the things that we want the most, and often times He does give us what we want. When God does give us the things we want we have to stop and give thanks. It's like this, if you give someone a gift that you know they have really been wanting, something they will absolutely love, and they don't even say thank you it would hurt your feelings. It would make you feel like they don't appreciate you. If someone asked how they got the gift and they said they got it for themselves it would make you hurt also.
