The Lamb Of God!

“But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, are only a small village among all the people of Judah. Yet a ruler of Israel, whose origins are in the distant past, will come from you on my behalf.” Micah‬ ‭5:2‬ ‭

Although this prophecy was made many years before Jesus was born, Mary didn't plan to have Jesus in the town Bethlehem, but God knew that is where He would be born when He spoke those words to the prophet. Mary and Joesph were living in Nazareth, and they had to travel to Bethlehem in Judea where Joesph originated from for a census. Joesph took Mary, His fiance at the time with him, she was pregnant with Jesus at that time. As they arrived at Bethlehem the time came for Jesus to be born. They tried to find somewhere to stay but everywhere was full someone offered them a stable with a manger in it, which is what the sheep and cows ate hay out of back then. The KJV Bible says "She wrapped him in swaddling cloths", that is what they use to wrap baby lambs in when they were born. See God knew all along where Jesus was going to be born, and He could have told someone to be prepared for Jesus to come and keep a place open for Him, but He didn't. He didn't because Jesus wasn't just another baby He was the Lamb of God. Before Jesus came people had to use a perfect lamb with no blemish as a sacrifice to be cleansed from their sins. God sent Jesus as the unblemished lamb to cleanse everyone of their sins. Being born in that stable and being wrapped in what they used for a lamb was a part of the plan because the most perfect lamb to ever exist had come to the earth. We are saved only through Jesus. Today, thank God for coming down to save us from the sins we were yet to commit. Here are some verses to reflect on today! “Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the reign of King Herod. About that time some wise men from eastern lands arrived in Jerusalem, asking,” Matthew‬ ‭2:1‬ ‭ “The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David!” Luke‬ ‭2:11‬ ‭ “And you will recognize him by this sign: You will find a baby wrapped snugly in strips of cloth, lying in a manger.”” Luke‬ ‭2:12‬ ‭ “After breakfast Jesus asked Simon Peter, “Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?” “Yes, Lord,” Peter replied, “you know I love you.” “Then feed my lambs,” Jesus told him.” John‬ ‭21:15‬ ‭
