What Mary Knew!

"This is how Jesus the Messiah was born. His mother, Mary, was engaged to be married to Joseph. But before the marriage took place, while she was still a virgin, she became pregnant through the Holy Spirit." Matthew 18:1

Something came to me the other day, Mary was the one person in this world that knew Jesus was a miracle and was the Savior of the world without a doubt in her mind. She had no way of being pregnant but the Holy Spirit made her pregnant. She was the one person in the world that was more shocked than even us. One of my favorite Christmas songs is 'Mary Did You Know?' If you think of the lyrics where it says, "Did you know that your baby boy Has walked where angels trod? When you kiss your little baby you kiss the face of God" it's something so deep to think about. Imagine trying to comprehend that you not only had an unexpected child and a complete miracle but that you carried for nine months and hold each day is God in the flesh. Mary is the one person who had more faith than anyone. Mary's joy over Jesus wasn't only because He was her son but also because it was God in the flesh. She knew who He was from the time He was formed in her womb when the angel told her. She knew that He was the Savior and something special to more than she could imagine. Today have the joy that Mary had knowing Jesus did not only come just to save her from her sins, but to save each and every one of us. What Mary knew and each of us should remember is that Jesus was a complete miracle and if He had done that miracle and many more while He was on this earth then He can do the impossible in our lives every day. Here are some verses to reflect on today. “Jacob was the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary. Mary gave birth to Jesus, who is called the Messiah.” Matthew‬ ‭1:16‬ ‭ “He took with him Mary, to whom he was engaged, who was now expecting a child.” Luke‬ ‭2:5‬ ‭ “And while they were there, the time came for her baby to be born.” Luke‬ ‭2:6‬ ‭ “She gave birth to her firstborn son. She wrapped him snugly in strips of cloth and laid him in a manger, because there was no lodging available for them.” Luke‬ ‭2:7‬ ‭
