Put God First.
“Jesus gave his life for our sins, just as God our Father planned, in order to rescue us from this evil world in which we live.” Galatians 1:4
We all remember the story of Abraham when he took Isaac up the mountain, the story also represents how God felt when Jesus went on the cross. Maybe you spend a lot of time on your phone instead of in prayer, maybe you have put a friendship or relationship over your walk with God, maybe you've put something simple over the One who matters the most. Sometimes God doesn’t want us to give up those things completely but He does want us to put God very first in our life and all the other things to fall in line behind. I use to fast every Sunday from social media, just to have that day for God. I done it for months honestly, and I really enjoyed it. It helped my walk with God a lot, because I learned that He is the most important thing in my life. Often times we get so caught up in our life and daily things that we forget to even talk to God. Imagine it like this, you sit at home all day waiting for someone to get home a parent, roommate or spouse and they get busy doing something and don’t even wanna talk to you, wouldn’t that hurt you? That’s how God feels when we put social media, friends, work, cleaning or anything above Him. Don’t forget that the most important person in the world is always waiting for you to talk to Him. God doesn’t eat, sleep or get too busy to listen to us and our problems. He’s always ready to listen and tell us what we need to do if only we take time. Today start putting God above everything else in your life. It’s okay to have friends, relationships, work, school or anything else is fine to have as long as you make time for God in the middle of it all! He just wants to have a relationship with you, and you are only we close to God as you want to be. Here are some verses to reflect on today. “Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world.” James 4:8 “The Lord is good, a strong refuge when trouble comes. He is close to those who trust in him.” Nahum 1:7 “Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’” Matthew 22:37 ““If you carefully obey the commands I am giving you today, and if you love the Lord your God and serve him with all your heart and soul,” Deuteronomy 11:13
