Stay Consistent With Praying.

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” Philippians‬ ‭4‬:‭6‬ ‭

Have you ever noticed we pray more during the difficult times in life rather than the good times in life? When we go through a valley we pray a lot because we lean on God for strength, joy, and a breakthrough. When things are going good in life oftentimes we forget Him. It shouldn’t be that way, it should be that we pray, worship, and read our Bible no matter how life is going. You can’t pray only in the storm and forget God when it passes. I use to be really scared of storms, living in the south we have tornadoes a good bit. During a storm, I would pray more than I did any other time. Although I was afraid and it was okay to come to God with my fear, I shouldn’t have let that be the most I prayed during those times. I later life learned that during a storm shouldn’t be the most I prayed, but rather when everything in my life is going good. As I’ve grown closer to God He freed me from the fear of storms. I don’t worry over them instead, I am reminded Jesus is in control of it all, just as He was on the boat with the disciples! I learned that I should thank God daily for all the wonderful things He has done and is doing in my life. Over the last year and a half, I have grown closer to God spending time in prayer all throughout the day. I realized prayer was the bridge I had been missing to get closer to God. We all say we want a better relationship with God but is our prayer life aligning with that want? Prayer is a key part of our relationship with God. It’s like trying to be friends with someone, grow closer to them but never talk to them. You can’t make the relationship with God work if you’re not praying. Today, work on praying more often. Pray when life is rough, pray when life is great, and even pray when it’s just okay. All God wants is for us to be consistent with Him, praying all the time. Here are some verses to reflect on today.  “But when you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father in private. Then your Father, who sees everything, will reward you.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭6‬ ‭ “Never stop praying.” 1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5‬:‭17‬ ‭ “Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.” Ephesians‬ ‭6‬:‭18‬ ‭ “But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted!” John‬ ‭15‬:‭7‬ ‭
