The Impact Of Those Around You.
“Don’t be fooled by those who say such things, for “bad company corrupts good character.” 1 Corinthians 15:33
Have you ever been around someone that makes you feel like you have to water yourself down to be around them? Do you have to hide your true feelings, beliefs, and thoughts because of what they would think or say about it? That person isn’t meant to be in your life. It hurts to hear but it’s the truth. The people God has chosen to be a part of your life might not always agree with your belief but they will agree to disagree. They wouldn’t judge you for thinking the way that you do. They will instead say, I don’t think like that but that is me. The people you surround yourself with are important. It oftentimes shows people who you are by those around you and how they act. Next time you feel like you’re having to be less of “you” around someone be yourself and see how they react, and that will show you if they’re truly meant to be in your life. Your belief is important and you should never have to back down for anyone. The Bible says “bad company ruins good morals.” Being kind to someone is okay, you don’t have to be close to someone to be nice. Being a vessel for Christ means we have to communicate with sinners and all sorts of people. Just always keep in mind that Jesus is with the sinners, but He didn’t sin with them. If you’re around those “bad company” people, be kind, show Jesus love, but most of all is yourself. Don’t let them water you down when you’re made to be who you are. Sometimes we do have to lose friends for God to send us better ones for the future of our ministries. Trust God when He removes friends. He will always send something better when He takes something away. Today I encourage you to be kind to everyone you meet but don’t let them change who you are on the inside. God always sends us the friends we need at the right moment, and sometimes that means being lonely once and a while. We are here in this world, but not a part of the world. Be different and be you because God created you as He wanted you to be. Have confidence in God and yourself as you walk boldly in your walk with Christ. Here are some verses to reflect on today. “Don’t befriend angry people or associate with hot-tempered people,” Proverbs 22:24 “Dear children, don’t let anyone deceive you about this: When people do what is right, it shows that they are righteous, even as Christ is righteous.” 1 John 3:7 “There are “friends” who destroy each other, but a real friend sticks closer than a brother.” Proverbs 18:24
