Shine Your Light!

“For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light!” Ephesians‬ ‭5‬:‭8‬ ‭

Why is it we constantly let the world hide our light for Jesus? We all fear the opinion of others and are afraid to offend them. Remember the song we would sing in Sunday School, "Hide it under a bushel? No! I'm gonna let it shine." That is what we have to do! See, the Bible says to let our lights shine to all people. We are meant to be a light to the world, but if we always let the fear of what others think to control each of us, then we will never be able to accomplish all that God has for us to do. I use to have a fear of what others would think if I started a blog, and then I realized it doesn't matter what they think about it because it is all for God's glory and not my own. It's how God is using me to spread the Gospel at this time in my life and later on maybe at other times. Know that all you're doing that seems small to shine your light is actually big. Don't let other people's opinions change what you know to be true. You are here to be a light to everyone around you and everyone you meet. Don't let the world hide your light when it's meant to shine for all to see. Here are some verses to reflect on today. “The people who walk in darkness will see a great light. For those who live in a land of deep darkness, a light will shine.” Isaiah‬ ‭9‬:‭2 ‬ “If you are filled with light, with no dark corners, then your whole life will be radiant, as though a floodlight were filling you with light.”” Luke‬ ‭11‬:‭36‬ ‭ “No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house.” Matthew‬ ‭5‬:‭15‬ ‭ “John himself was not the light; he was simply a witness to tell about the light.” John‬ ‭1‬:‭8‬ ‭

Wait Patiently!

“Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.” Psalms‬ ‭27:14‬ ‭ If God is making you wait, then wait patiently. Nothing in the waiting is a waste. I remember a time in my life where I was praying for something, I waited years and seem to receive no answer. I waited and waited. Somedays I was impatient and cried all day, other days I waited with patience of steel and praised God for what I knew I would someday receive. Sometimes the waiting is easy, other times it is an uphill battle. Whenever we are waiting we will go through different seasons, but we can count on the fact that God is at work for us. Don't Forget God!

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” Philippians‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭ Don't forget God when you receive what you are praying for. God knows the things that we want the most, and often times He does give us what we want. When God does give us the things we want we have to stop and give thanks. It's like this, if you give someone a gift that you know they have really been wanting, something they will absolutely love, and they don't even say thank you it would hurt your feelings. It would make you feel like they don't appreciate you. If someone asked how they got the gift and they said they got it for themselves it would make you hurt also. When God gives us what we are praying for we need to shout from the rooftops that God done it for us, that He made a way. We need to thank God, telling everyone about it.
