Devotions For God.
“Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.” Ephesians 6:18
Doing devotions every day can be tiring and oftentimes feel more like a chore than something we enjoy, but being persistent in the word of God is the best thing we can do. See being persistent means "continuing to exist or endure over a prolonged period." If we stay persistent in reading the Bible, praying, and even devotions we are showing our faithfulness to God. If we want God to trust and bless us with big things then He has to know that we will be faithful to Him in the small things. It's easy to be close to God and pray when we go through hard times because we often lean on Him for support but where it really shows is if we will be faithful to God when everything in life is going exactly right. Being persistent in prayer, worship, devotion, and going to church is the best way to show God that we are more than capable to be faithful to Him fully. Today, if you feel as though you are tired of doing devotions, reading the Bible, praying, and even going to church then remind yourself why you started doing all those things to grow closer to God in the first place. You want a relationship with God, and that oftentimes that comes with having to be faithful even when you're in a dry season of your walk with God. God never leaves or forsakes us, it's us who drift away. If you feel like you're distant from God remember you're only as close to God as you want to be. Take a step and make more effort to grow closer to Him. Here are some verses to reflect on today. “One day Jesus told his disciples a story to show that they should always pray and never give up.” Luke 18:1 “Praise the Lord, the God of Israel, who lives from everlasting to everlasting. Amen and amen!” Psalms 41:13 “So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.” James 1:4 “Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that he has promised.” Hebrews 10:36
