Be Angry, But Don't Sin!
“And “don’t sin by letting anger control you.” Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry,” Ephesians 4:26
Have you ever been angry? I know I have over things that happen in life. Getting angry over things is just a part of life. Today is the second day of the Holy Week, today marks the day that Jesus walked into the temple and realized they were selling things out of it and He became angry and flipped the tables. See the Bible says "Be angry but do not sin." Even Jesus got angry as we see through these scriptures, and that is just how life is, but He did not ever sin, He was perfect. We are able to become angry over things because that is our emotions, and emotions are something we can't stop, but we have to choose to not sin although we are angry because that is in our control. The verse also says "do not let the sun go down while you are still angry", as in we should never go to bed angry. God has so many rules with anger because it is one of the top emotions that causes us to say things that we might not really mean. How many times have you heard someone say, "I just said that out of anger" I know I have a million times. See the enemy uses anger in each of us over many different things to get us to sin and say things to hurt others. Jesus never used His anger in that way, He never let anger control Him but He overcame it instead. We have to take control of our anger and not let it use us but instead take the anger we do have and use it for good. Today, if you become angry don't let it control you, instead use it for something good. Be like Jesus in every aspect of life and watch how He uses you! Here are some verses to reflect on today. “for anger gives a foothold to the devil.” Ephesians 4:27 “Jesus entered the Temple and began to drive out all the people buying and selling animals for sacrifice. He knocked over the tables of the money changers and the chairs of those selling doves.”Matthew 21:12 “Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry.” James 1:19
