Changing The World!
“The world would love you as one of its own if you belonged to it, but you are no longer part of the world. I chose you to come out of the world, so it hates you.” John 15:19
If we base all of our goals in life on things in the world then we will never get to the potential we are meant for. We spend so much time trying to become more like the world that we end up becoming less like Jesus. If we spent as much time trying to become like Jesus as we do trying to fit in with the world imagine how we would be as people. If we were meant to fit in with the world then Jesus would have told us that, but instead, He said, "If the world hates you, remember it hated me first." We weren't meant to be a part of the world, we were sent here to change the world. It's like this, you go into a room that you're there to change but then try to become like it, you can't change the room to how it needs to be if you're trying to keep it the same to fit into it. You have to make sure that you're more worried about changing the world than you are about being a part of it. I know it's an easy slip to want to be a part of it and to fit in with others, but one thing I have learned is it is better to stand out in front of the wrong crowd than to become a part of it. The people that have the same mindset and goals as you will understand you and your motives. You are called by God not by man and never let anyone change your perspective on that. Today, remember that you're here on earth to make a change and not leave it the same as when you came into it. You're here for a purpose in God! Here are some verses to reflect on today. “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” Romans 12:2 “Don’t team up with those who are unbelievers. How can righteousness be a partner with wickedness? How can light live with darkness?” 2 Corinthians 6:14 “Therefore, come out from among unbelievers, and separate yourselves from them, says the Lord. Don’t touch their filthy things, and I will welcome you.” 2 Corinthians 6:17 “This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!” 2 Corinthians 5:17
