Drawing Near To God, Begins Change.

“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” Romans‬ ‭12:2‬ ‭

People always tend to judge us for being Christians and for the morals that we live by. If you're a new Christian or even an experienced Christian but don't quite understand why we have morals the way we do, then I will explain it to you. Once you grow close to God and your relationship begins to grow with Him your mentality changes. See when we are in the world we do get a gut feeling sometimes that we shouldn't do something, with having a true relationship with God we get that feeling a lot, it is called conviction. We feel convicted over things we know that we should not do. Sometimes conviction isn't even something we shouldn't do but sometimes is something we are putting above God in our lives. See it isn't so much that we should do things, or shouldn't do things it's when we come to truly know who God is and grow in a relationship our mentality and way of life changes. We no longer want to feed into the drama, relationships that are not based with God in the middle, those rowdy crowds, the same things we use to do all the time, but most of all the sins that dishonor God. We then begin to open our eyes to the new way of life in Christ. If you feel as though you aren't at this place yet or have never been grow closer to God and watch Him change you. Today take the first step and watch your life change for the better. Remember that you're only as close to God as you want to be, make that first step and continue to make steps everyday! Here are some verses to reflect on today. “Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world.” James‬ ‭4:8‬ ‭ “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Wait Patiently!

“Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.” Psalms‬ ‭27:14‬ ‭ If God is making you wait, then wait patiently. Nothing in the waiting is a waste. I remember a time in my life where I was praying for something, I waited years and seem to receive no answer. I waited and waited. Somedays I was impatient and cried all day, other days I waited with patience of steel and praised God for what I knew I would someday receive. Sometimes the waiting is easy, other times it is an uphill battle. Whenever we are waiting we will go through different seasons, but we can count on the fact that God is at work for us. Don't Forget God!

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” Philippians‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭ Don't forget God when you receive what you are praying for. God knows the things that we want the most, and often times He does give us what we want. When God does give us the things we want we have to stop and give thanks. It's like this, if you give someone a gift that you know they have really been wanting, something they will absolutely love, and they don't even say thank you it would hurt your feelings. It would make you feel like they don't appreciate you. If someone asked how they got the gift and they said they got it for themselves it would make you hurt also. When God gives us what we are praying for we need to shout from the rooftops that God done it for us, that He made a way. We need to thank God, telling everyone about it.
