Forgiving Beyond Measure.
““No, not seven times,” Jesus replied, “but seventy times seven!” Matthew 18:22
We oftentimes hold a grudge against others and tend to not forgive easily. However, I read once that not forgiving someone only hurts you. It brings you down by holding a weight that you shouldn't have to carry in the first place. I have always been someone to be quick to forgive others because I always remember the patience God used for me. He was so quick to forgive me no matter how many times I hurt Him. See the Bible says that we should forgive others and we will be forgiven. You are forgiven by the same measure you forgive, and that is something to think about. Forgiving someone isn't always easy, but the Bible tells us to do that. Peter asked Jesus how often he should forgive someone who sins against him, seven times? Peter questioned. Jesus replied, "No, not seven times, but seventy times seven." Forgiving someone a million times does not make you weak, instead, it honestly makes you strong in faith. Today, if God chose to forgive you by the amount that you have forgiven those that have hurt you or betrayed you how forgiven would you be? That is something to think about next time you feel like you want to hold a grudge. Be quick to forgive and slow to speak. You have to always be kind to others as God has been kind to you. Here are some verses to reflect on today. “But when you are praying, first forgive anyone you are holding a grudge against, so that your Father in heaven will forgive your sins, too.”” Mark 11:25 “But if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins.” Matthew 6:15 “Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.”Colossians 3:13 “God blesses those who are merciful, for they will be shown mercy.” Matthew 5:7
