Go Alone To Pray!
““Father, if you are willing, please take this cup of suffering away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine.”” Luke 22:42
Today of Holy Week Jesus and the disciples had the last supper. After they ate Jesus went over to the Mount of Olives to be alone and pray. He prayed that if it were possible that He didn't have to go through what He knew was to come. How many times in life do we stop before we make a big decision and pray for God's will and not our own? Often times we don't, even including myself. We think that by our own power, we know what is best for us but in reality, we really don't know what is best for us. See Jesus knew His calling but He also felt what any human would feel in His place, He was dreading what He had to do. How many times do we dread doing what God wants us to do? I know many days I have been tired and sleepy and didn't want to write a blog but I knew that I needed to. So many times the enemy uses our emotions and feelings as a way to keep us from doing what God wants us to do. Next time you come to a place where you know what you need to do but don't feel like it let God lead the way, let Him show you what you need to do. You are called by God and have a purpose to fulfill. Remind yourself of that. Go somewhere alone to pray, often times that is where we find the true answers from God in those quiet moments alone with Him. Whatever you are called to do you need to go through with it because you might help bring someone to God. Here are some verses to reflect on today. “Jesus replied, “You don’t understand now what I am doing, but someday you will.”” John 13:7 “When Judas had eaten the bread, Satan entered into him. Then Jesus told him, “Hurry and do what you’re going to do.”” John 13:27 “In those days when you pray, I will listen.” Jeremiah 29:12 “He went in alone and shut the door behind him and prayed to the Lord.” 2 Kings 4:33
