Who You Marry Matters To God.

“But if they can’t control themselves, they should go ahead and marry. It’s better to marry than to burn with lust.” 1 Corinthians‬ ‭7:9‬ ‭

I have always loved the story of Ruth, as I was in the waiting period of my life I used to read it and it brought me hope to know that God made a way for her to find her husband and that He could do the same for me. As I began to read deep into the book of Ruth I came to realize that God knew she would end up with Boaz from the beginning. The story doesn't end with Ruth but only begins there. As Ruth and Boaz got married, they gave birth to a son named Obed, Obed later had a son named Jesse and Jesse was the father of David. See God knew that King David would come from Ruth's lineage. We think so many times that it doesn't matter who we marry as long as we are happy with it ourselves don't take me wrong I believe God does want us happy in our marriages but He does care who we marry. He cares about your lineage, and who you marry to create that. When you get into a relationship and you see a future with that person take it to God, and ask Him if this is the person He created for you. I always have heard the saying, "It is better to wait than to marry wrong." Today, if you're single pray and ask God for help to wait on the right one, if you're in a relationship ask God if this is the person He has created for you to marry? Here are some verses to reflect on today. “Obed was the father of Jesse. Jesse was the father of David.” Ruth‬ ‭4:22‬ ‭ “So Boaz took Ruth into his home, and she became his wife. When he slept with her, the Lord enabled her to become pregnant, and she gave birth to a son.” Ruth‬ ‭4:13‬ ‭ “Marry and have children. Then find spouses for them so that you may have many grandchildren. Multiply! Do not dwindle away!” ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭29:6‬ ‭ “But if a man thinks that he’s treating his fiancĂ©e improperly and will inevitably give in to his passion, let him marry her as he wishes. It is not a sin.” 1 Corinthians‬ ‭7:36‬ ‭
