Be A Good Samaritan.
““Then a despised Samaritan came along, and when he saw the man, he felt compassion for him.” Luke 10:33
As a kid, I heard the story of the good samaritan I could never understand why everyone walked past him and did not try to help. Even the priest and the Levite both respected men walked past him, and only one of three stopped to help that being a Samaritan. That is how life is a lot, people who we respect do not help us when we need them. It's sad but true. The story that Jesus told of this was a representation of how we should treat others, we should never pass the broken and lonely, we should help them instead. We should treat them with kindness regardless of their background. We should love them and give them all that we can. The good Samaritan bandaged the man up and paid for his care. He didn't think of what the man's past was, what he would owe him, or how the man would pay him back instead he helped him without expecting anything in return. When we help others it should be out of the kindness of our hearts, not about what they can give back to us. Today, do something nice for someone, be kind where it matters, and do a good deed without expecting anything in return. Treat others the exact same way you want to be treated. Don't just sit back and watch others be good to those in need, but get up yourself and go be a good Samaritan. Here are some verses to reflect on today. “The next day he handed the innkeeper two silver coins, telling him, ‘Take care of this man. If his bill runs higher than this, I’ll pay you the next time I’m here.’” Luke 10:35 “The man replied, “The one who showed him mercy.” Then Jesus said, “Yes, now go and do the same.”” Luke 10:37 “Do to others as you would like them to do to you.” Luke 6:31 “Whoever pursues righteousness and unfailing love will find life, righteousness, and honor.” Proverbs 21:21
