It's A Single Step.
“Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world.” James 4:8
God doesn't only want weekend visits from you. Going to church, worshiping, and praying on Sunday but having no communication with God during the week will never be enough to have a true relationship with God. You have to make sure you're not giving God only Sundays with Him. If you feel as though you've begun to slip away from God, take time today to spend with Him. God just wants time with you. The Bible tells us that we come close to God and He will come close to us. Prayer is the boundary between where you're at in your relationship with God and where you need to be. When you begin to communicate with God then you will begin to see your relationship with Him bloom into what it has needed to be all along. Today, if you feel as though you're in a drought of life where you seem hopeless and like there just isn't anything good happening ask yourself this, have you taken that to God? Have you communicated with Him recently or have you put Him on a time schedule of only weekends? Take time and tell God everything you're going through, thinking of, and doing because when you cross the bridge with a single step God will meet you there. You are only as close to Him as you want to be. You can't communicate with Him on Sunday and forget until you need something from Him on Friday, He is our personal Savior and friend every day that we choose to let Him be. Here are some verses to reflect on today. “The Lord is close to all who call on him, yes, to all who call on him in truth.” Psalms 145:18 “Am I a God who is only close at hand?” says the Lord. “No, I am far away at the same time.” Jeremiah 23:23 “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.” Psalms 34:18 “Keep a close watch on how you live and on your teaching. Stay true to what is right for the sake of your own salvation and the salvation of those who hear you.” 1 Timothy 4:16
