Joy In God's Will.

“You haven’t done this before. Ask, using my name, and you will receive, and you will have abundant joy.” John‬ ‭16:24‬ ‭

Sometimes, we are so quick to want to do something that we forget to ask for God's approval. We have free will, we can choose to do something that we don't ask God about but often times that results in us being hurt in the end. If we don't ask for God's approval on relationships, marriages, jobs, homes, or even small things then where will we end up? The plans that God has for us is always good, and His purpose for us will always fulfill us. My dad once told me that when you're in God's perfect will that is where you will be the happiest you've ever been or ever will be. I think of that often because life is hard but that doesn't mean we don't have joy. Joy doesn't have to do with the outcome of life, things we go through, or how life currently is joy is knowing that God has us in His hands at all times and that all things are under control because His plan is perfect. Today, if you don't know God's will for your life then ask Him to show you. If you do know His will then follow it because that is where happiness is! Your joy is found in God, not in life circumstances or accomplishments. Here are some verses to reflect on today. “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” Ephesians‬ ‭2:10‬ ‭“Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice!” Philippians‬ ‭4:4‬ ‭ “I have told you these things so that you will be filled with my joy. Yes, your joy will overflow!” John‬ ‭15:11‬ ‭ “The hopes of the godly result in happiness, but the expectations of the wicked come to nothing.” Proverbs‬ ‭10:28‬ ‭

Wait Patiently!

“Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.” Psalms‬ ‭27:14‬ ‭ If God is making you wait, then wait patiently. Nothing in the waiting is a waste. I remember a time in my life where I was praying for something, I waited years and seem to receive no answer. I waited and waited. Somedays I was impatient and cried all day, other days I waited with patience of steel and praised God for what I knew I would someday receive. Sometimes the waiting is easy, other times it is an uphill battle. Whenever we are waiting we will go through different seasons, but we can count on the fact that God is at work for us. Don't Forget God!

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” Philippians‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭ Don't forget God when you receive what you are praying for. God knows the things that we want the most, and often times He does give us what we want. When God does give us the things we want we have to stop and give thanks. It's like this, if you give someone a gift that you know they have really been wanting, something they will absolutely love, and they don't even say thank you it would hurt your feelings. It would make you feel like they don't appreciate you. If someone asked how they got the gift and they said they got it for themselves it would make you hurt also. When God gives us what we are praying for we need to shout from the rooftops that God done it for us, that He made a way. We need to thank God, telling everyone about it.
