The Past Is Behind You.

““But forget all that— it is nothing compared to what I am going to do.” ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭43:18‬ ‭

If we spend all of our time looking in the rearview mirror we will never get to where we are destined for. Your future needs you, your past has already had you. Often times we focus on our happy times in the past that we forget to enjoy the little moments of life that God is giving us now. I heard someone say once, "Why spend time looking at the past when you aren't going that way." The Bible teaches us to not spend time looking at the past. See if we spent all day every day looking at the things that we didn't do, the things we would change, the good times and the bad times of the past then we would have no focus on what is now or to come. We have to keep our minds on what we can do for God now and in the future. We have to keep our minds on the things above because we are meant for better things now than before. God is always using our past as a way to relate to those that have gone through what we have not something we should sit and ponder on all the time. Today, keep your mind on now and the future knowing that God is at work for you now. Your past cannot change but your future is awaiting you. The Bible says joy will come in the morning, it lets us know that joy is always ahead it was not only in the past but also in our future. Get ready for what's next and stop focusing on things in the past. Your past is gone, new wonderful things are to come. Here are some verses to reflect on today. “Look, the winter is past, and the rains are over and gone.” Song of Songs‬ ‭2:11‬ ‭ “Who will hear these lessons from the past and see the ruin that awaits you in the future?” Isaiah‬ ‭42:23‬ ‭ “For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven.”Ecclesiastes‬ ‭3:1‬ ‭ “But those who fail to develop in this way are shortsighted or blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their old sins.” 2 Peter‬ ‭1:9‬ ‭

“Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.” Psalms‬ ‭27:14‬ ‭ If God is making you wait, then wait patiently. Nothing in the waiting is a waste. I remember a time in my life where I was praying for something, I waited years and seem to receive no answer. I waited and waited. Somedays I was impatient and cried all day, other days I waited with patience of steel and praised God for what I knew I would someday receive. Sometimes the waiting is easy, other times it is an uphill battle. Whenever we are waiting we will go through different seasons, but we can count on the fact that God is at work for us. Don't Forget God!

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” Philippians‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭ Don't forget God when you receive what you are praying for. God knows the things that we want the most, and often times He does give us what we want. When God does give us the things we want we have to stop and give thanks. It's like this, if you give someone a gift that you know they have really been wanting, something they will absolutely love, and they don't even say thank you it would hurt your feelings. It would make you feel like they don't appreciate you. If someone asked how they got the gift and they said they got it for themselves it would make you hurt also.
