Light In The Darkness.

“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.” John‬ ‭1:5‬               

Today's world is full of so much darkness and hatred, it needs a light to shine for Jesus. There was a Sunday school song most of us knew growing up that went like this, "This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine, hide it under a bushel, no, I'm gonna let it shine." Today, we are so quick to let bushels in life hide it such as popularity, other's approval, embarrassment, and anything else in life. We let others dull the light that we are meant to shine. The light you have for God is the most important thing in your life, we can't let anything take that away. Shining a light for the world to see means doing good deeds expecting nothing in return, being kind to everyone no matter if you get that in return, following God's will for your life, and most of all living a life pleasing to God. You can't shine a light for others to see and live in sin because that would be a wolf in sheep's clothing. God's servants and those who choose to let their lights shine have to be honorable to God. Today, be sure to let your light shine and live a life pleasing to God for others to see. Remind yourself it isn't a competition to shine brighter than anyone else. The darkness can never cover your light, but your light can brighten the darkness. Here are some verses to reflect on today. ““You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden.” Matthew‬ ‭5:14‬ ‭ “But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.” 1 John‬ ‭1:7‬ ‭ “In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.”‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5:16‬ ‭ “Now someone may argue, “Some people have faith; others have good deeds.” But I say, “How can you show me your faith if you don’t have good deeds? I will show you my faith by my good deeds.””James‬ ‭2:18‬ ‭

Wait Patiently!

“Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.” Psalms‬ ‭27:14‬ ‭ If God is making you wait, then wait patiently. Nothing in the waiting is a waste. I remember a time in my life where I was praying for something, I waited years and seem to receive no answer. I waited and waited. Somedays I was impatient and cried all day, other days I waited with patience of steel and praised God for what I knew I would someday receive. Sometimes the waiting is easy, other times it is an uphill battle. Whenever we are waiting we will go through different seasons, but we can count on the fact that God is at work for us. Don't Forget God!

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” Philippians‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭ Don't forget God when you receive what you are praying for. God knows the things that we want the most, and often times He does give us what we want. When God does give us the things we want we have to stop and give thanks. It's like this, if you give someone a gift that you know they have really been wanting, something they will absolutely love, and they don't even say thank you it would hurt your feelings. It would make you feel like they don't appreciate you. If someone asked how they got the gift and they said they got it for themselves it would make you hurt also.
