Soul Purpose.

“Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be.” Matthew‬ ‭6:21‬ ‭

Today's world teaches us to be so lukewarm and to accept things we know aren't right. The world wants us to accept hatred and be full of greed. If we follow the world we lose our soul in the process. We can become everything that is considered cool in this world but that will not get us very far in our walks with God. To be cool and accepted by the world means nothing if it cost you your soul. Your soul is so important it doesn't only create who you are but it also is where your eternity will be. I can tell you this for you to be rich in earthly pleasures is to be poor in a relationship with God. I'm not saying for us to have money means to not have a relationship with God, but if your sole focus is on money and any other earthly thing then your focus is taken off of God. When you focus on God He handles your life and anything in it. Stop worrying about what it means to be cool in this world and worry about what it means to be favored by God. Your sight has to be set on Jesus that is what is most important. Today, I encourage you to focus on your soul and heart to be right with God instead of the world. Here are some verses to reflect on today. “The reward for trusting him will be the salvation of your souls.” 1 Peter‬ ‭1:9‬ ‭ “But since you are like lukewarm water, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth!” Revelation‬ ‭3:16‬ ‭ “And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Is anything worth more than your soul?”Matthew‬ ‭16:26‬ ‭ “And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul?” Mark‬ ‭8:36‬ ‭

“Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.” Psalms‬ ‭27:14‬ ‭ If God is making you wait, then wait patiently. Nothing in the waiting is a waste. I remember a time in my life where I was praying for something, I waited years and seem to receive no answer. I waited and waited. Somedays I was impatient and cried all day, other days I waited with patience of steel and praised God for what I knew I would someday receive. Sometimes the waiting is easy, other times it is an uphill battle. Whenever we are waiting we will go through different seasons, but we can count on the fact that God is at work for us. Don't Forget God!

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” Philippians‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭ Don't forget God when you receive what you are praying for. God knows the things that we want the most, and often times He does give us what we want. When God does give us the things we want we have to stop and give thanks. It's like this, if you give someone a gift that you know they have really been wanting, something they will absolutely love, and they don't even say thank you it would hurt your feelings. It would make you feel like they don't appreciate you. If someone asked how they got the gift and they said they got it for themselves it would make you hurt also.
