The Promise Is Coming.

“The Lord kept his word and did for Sarah exactly what he had promised.” Genesis‬ ‭21:1‬ ‭

Do you ever have those days where the doubt creeps in unknowingly and tells you that what God has promised won't happen? Let's think of this story in the Bible where someone doubted that God would do what He said, but God did it anyway. Sarah and Abraham were promised a child from God. When Abraham was told by God this he laughed, knowing that he is one hundred years old and doubtful that it will come to pass. Sarah overheard the conversation between God and Abraham and she laughed to herself. God asked Sarah why she laughed, and she responded and said she didn't, and God said, yes you did laugh. As you know the story goes on to tell us that Abraham had a child with the servant because he was impatient in his doubt, but God still blessed him with the promised child Isaac. This story not only teaches us that we should not doubt God's promises and that we also shouldn't take things into our own hands due to being impatient and doubtful of God. Today, I encourage you to be patient and hold on to the promises of God because He always has and always will come through for you. Your promise is still coming. Remind yourself that if God has done it before why couldn't He now. His promise forever stands, stay in His will and hold His promise close to you as hope and faith that you know it will happen. Here are some verses to reflect on today. “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”Jeremiah‬ ‭29:11‬ ‭ “Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.” ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭41:10‬ ‭ “And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.” 2 Peter‬ ‭1:4‬ ‭ “For the word of God will never fail.”” Luke‬ ‭1:37‬ ‭
