When God Speaks.
“Preach the word of God. Be prepared, whether the time is favorable or not. Patiently correct, rebuke, and encourage your people with good teaching.” 2 Timothy 4:2
We oftentimes put off telling someone what we know is right for them to hear whether it be advice, the gospel, or helping them see their wrongdoings because it "isn't the right time" but it doesn't matter what time it is when God calls you to tell someone something from Him. I have learned that when God is showing me something that I need to tell someone I shouldn't wait, I should tell them right when God tells me to because that is holding their blessing back from them. We should patiently correct this verse says as in we should be patient with people when we tell them that their sin doesn't align with the word of God. We should be patient with them as God has and is patient with us. You cannot expect God to not be patient with someone when He has been patient with you, the Bible says that God has no favorites. The next verse says that there will be a time when people don't listen to wholesome teachings and that they will follow their own desires. That is sadly what the world is like today, people are offended by correction even from God. They want to do as their sinful nature craves for them to but that isn't what God has designed for us, if that was Adam and Eve would've stayed in the garden after they sinned. God doesn't expect us to be perfect but He does expect us to change our ways. Today, if you have a friend or family member on the wrong track encourage them to turn from their ways, patiently help them and encourage them to change as God has done for you. You might be their last chance to help and encourage them to change before they have chosen their painful eternity. Here are some verses to reflect on today. “For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear.” 2 Timothy 4:3 “But if you do what is wrong, you will be paid back for the wrong you have done. For God has no favorites.” Colossians 3:25 “So the disciples went out, telling everyone they met to repent of their sins and turn to God.” Mark 6:12 “Turn from evil and do good, and you will live in the land forever.” Psalms 37:27
