Freedom For All.

“So Christ has truly set us free. Now make sure that you stay free, and don’t get tied up again in slavery to the law.” Galatians‬ ‭5:1‬ ‭

Freedom is something we all desperately search for, and living in America we are known as the country of freedom. There are rules and things we have to go by but compared to most countries we live freely. We celebrate today, the birthday of America, we spend our day grilling hot dogs and hamburgers, wearing our patriotic colors red white, and blue, spending time with our families, and shooting fireworks. We as the American country are free because of what our soldiers have fought for us to have, we are free spiritually and from sin free because of Jesus. In the way our soldiers risk their lives for our freedom, Jesus came and sacrificed His life for our eternity. The Bible says, "So Christ has truly set us free. Now make sure that you stay free, and don't get tied up into slavery of the law." We are sinfully free thanks to Jesus, He came down and gave His life so that we might live again. Today, as you end your celebration remember to also thank God for your freedom from sin, because He paid a price you could never pay. Freedom is something that is not bought but earned, and Jesus and Him working through our soldiers earned it for us. Here are some verses to reflect on today. “So if the Son sets you free, you are truly free.” John‬ ‭8:36‬ ‭ “For you are free, yet you are God’s slaves, so don’t use your freedom as an excuse to do evil.” ‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭2:16‬ ‭ “For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love.” Galatians‬ ‭5:13‬ ‭ “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans‬ ‭6:23‬ ‭

Wait Patiently!

“Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.” Psalms‬ ‭27:14‬ ‭ If God is making you wait, then wait patiently. Nothing in the waiting is a waste. I remember a time in my life where I was praying for something, I waited years and seem to receive no answer. I waited and waited. Somedays I was impatient and cried all day, other days I waited with patience of steel and praised God for what I knew I would someday receive. Sometimes the waiting is easy, other times it is an uphill battle. Whenever we are waiting we will go through different seasons, but we can count on the fact that God is at work for us. Don't Forget God!

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” Philippians‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭ Don't forget God when you receive what you are praying for. God knows the things that we want the most, and often times He does give us what we want. When God does give us the things we want we have to stop and give thanks. It's like this, if you give someone a gift that you know they have really been wanting, something they will absolutely love, and they don't even say thank you it would hurt your feelings. It would make you feel like they don't appreciate you. If someone asked how they got the gift and they said they got it for themselves it would make you hurt also. When God gives us what we are praying for we need to shout from the rooftops that God done it for us, that He made a way. We need to thank God, telling everyone about it.
