Real Confidence!
“Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.” Psalms 139:14
You start to see yourself differently when you see yourself the way God does. When a child draws, and colors the child sees it as beautiful because it is their creation, and when a parent looks at what their child has done they see it the same way. When God sees you He sees the work of art He spent a lot of time on. You can see yourself the same way once you realize how God sees you. When God looks at you He doesn't see your mistakes, failures, flaws, or the things you're most ashamed of He sees forgiveness, love, compassion, joy, and His child. When you start to grow closer to God you might still have doubt, but eventually, you will begin to see yourself as restored, forgiven, and loved by God. I was always insecure about myself, but the closer I grew to God the more I started to see myself the way that He does. I began to see someone who was chosen and anointed by God, someone who was loved and forgiven. I then began to care more about my inward appearance than my outward appearance. I started to love the person I had become knowing God created me to look and be this way. Today, when you have those thoughts to be insecure about who you are replace them with thoughts of how loved, cared for, forgiven, anointed, chosen, and blessed by God you are. When you see yourself that way then you will begin to not care how others view you because you will realize one of the most important things ever, that being that what God says and what God thinks matters more than anyone else's thoughts. Real confidence comes from God alone! Here are some verses to reflect on today. “You are altogether beautiful, my darling, beautiful in every way.” Song of Songs 4:7 “You should clothe yourselves instead with the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God.” 1 Peter 3:4 “Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end.” Ecclesiastes 3:11 “So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.” Genesis 1:27
