Discern Before You Decide.

“But people who aren’t spiritual can’t receive these truths from God’s Spirit. It all sounds foolish to them and they can’t understand it, for only those who are spiritual can understand what the Spirit means.” 1 Corinthians‬ ‭2:14‬ ‭

If we base everything off of feelings instead of the word of God then we will never be where God has for us to be. Your feelings aren't what leads you to the right place your faith and discernment in God are what does. Discernment from God means to understand or know something through the power of the Spirit. When you begin to discern things instead of going by what you think in yourself and what you feel is best that is when you will start to see that God's plan is way bigger than your own. Your feelings are oftentimes what will try to lead you wrong, your feelings go off of emotions when you go by what you're discerning then you're going by what God says. God never lies, God cannot lie and will not lie. When the Spirit comes on you to discern something it is God speaking truth to you. God doesn't let us discern things that aren't right, because He doesn't lie, but the enemy can try to deceive you. Be careful to test the spirits that you discern. Today, if you find yourself in a place of having to make a decision to do something don't go by what your emotions tell you, instead stop and pray and wait for your discernment to happen and then make the decision on what God tells you to do. God leads us by the still waters the Bible says, when the Spirit leads you it will lead you the correct and best way possible. Always trust what God says, not what your emotions say. Here are some verses to reflect on today. “For God is not a God of disorder but of peace, as in all the meetings of God’s holy people.” 1 Corinthians‬ ‭14:33‬ ‭ “Dear friends, do not believe everyone who claims to speak by the Spirit. You must test them to see if the spirit they have comes from God. For there are many false prophets in the world.” 1 John‬ ‭4:1‬ ‭ “For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.” Hebrews‬ ‭4:12‬ ‭ “Let those who are wise understand these things. Let those with discernment listen carefully. The paths of the Lord are true and right, and righteous people live by walking in them. But in those paths sinners stumble and fall.” Hosea‬ ‭14:9‬ ‭

Wait Patiently!

“Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.” Psalms‬ ‭27:14‬ ‭ If God is making you wait, then wait patiently. Nothing in the waiting is a waste. I remember a time in my life where I was praying for something, I waited years and seem to receive no answer. I waited and waited. Somedays I was impatient and cried all day, other days I waited with patience of steel and praised God for what I knew I would someday receive. Sometimes the waiting is easy, other times it is an uphill battle. Whenever we are waiting we will go through different seasons, but we can count on the fact that God is at work for us. Don't Forget God!

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” Philippians‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭ Don't forget God when you receive what you are praying for. God knows the things that we want the most, and often times He does give us what we want. When God does give us the things we want we have to stop and give thanks. It's like this, if you give someone a gift that you know they have really been wanting, something they will absolutely love, and they don't even say thank you it would hurt your feelings. It would make you feel like they don't appreciate you. If someone asked how they got the gift and they said they got it for themselves it would make you hurt also.
