Silence Is Not Absence.
“But even now I know that God will give you whatever you ask.”” John 11:22
We often times mistake God's silence for His absence. He isn't absent just because He is silent. Think of the story of Lazarus, Jesus was 4 days late. They thought all hope was gone because Jesus was silent. He was a no-show and waited 4 days to come, but the story goes much further than Jesus being 4 days late. Jesus then raises Lazarus from the dead after 4 days. Jesus didn't send a message that He was on the way, or He was just running late. Instead, it was complete silence. Jesus didn't tell them until He had got there. Next time you go through a time of silence remind yourself that sometimes God has to be silent when He is working. Each time that we go through a time of silence with God we normally go to the conclusion that God has walked away from us, but sometimes rather than Him working for us we have walked away from Him ourselves. Don't be so quick to assume that God walked away from you, check yourself and make sure you are as close to God as you possibly can be. Today, if you feel as though God is silent remind yourself that He is still working on you, preparing your miracle, blessing, and all the things that you have prayed for. God is still at work for you! Make sure you're growing your relationship with God in silent moments. Here are some verses to reflect on today. “The Lord himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.””Exodus 14:14 “O God, do not be silent! Do not be deaf. Do not be quiet, O God.” Psalms 83:1 “O Lord, you know all about this. Do not stay silent. Do not abandon me now, O Lord.” Psalms 35:22 “that I might sing praises to you and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give you thanks forever!” Psalms 30:12
