Better Left Unsaid.
“If you claim to be religious but don’t control your tongue, you are fooling yourself, and your religion is worthless.” James 1:26
Sometimes we are so quick to say what we are thinking that we don't think of how it will make someone else feel. Sometimes you need to take time and process what you are thinking of saying before you talk. Words hurt, and the thing about words is that they cannot be taken back. Once you say something you cannot take your words back. Jesus was a person who was firm with His words when it came to faith, but He was never mean to others. He was a compassionate person for us although He was much more intelligent than we are. Some things are better left unsaid. Before you speak, think about how it will affect others, make them feel and see you as a person. If it is negative then don't say it, but if it is positive then say it for them to hear. Today, make sure that you are being kind with your words and building others up instead of tearing them down. You can never go wrong with being kind even when you don't get the same in return. Here are some verses to reflect on today. “Those who control their tongue will have a long life; opening your mouth can ruin everything.” Proverbs 13:3 “The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences.” Proverbs 18:21 “Indeed, we all make many mistakes. For if we could control our tongues, we would be perfect and could also control ourselves in every other way.” James 3:2 “Watch your tongue and keep your mouth shut, and you will stay out of trouble.” Proverbs 21:23
