Come Back To God!
“In the same way, there is more joy in heaven over one lost sinner who repents and returns to God than over ninety-nine others who are righteous and haven’t strayed away!” Luke 15:7
Be the reason someone finds God again. Bringing one soul back to Christ is a big deal, it is something that might not be easy but something that is worthwhile. Think of the story of the one lost sheep where the ninety-nine stayed in their place, the Bible says that Heaven will rejoice over one lost soul. When we see others who are drifting or have drifted away from Christ our first instinct should be to remind them of His forgiveness and compassion for them. There is another story in the Bible that relates to this, it's the story of the prodigal son, and the father welcomes him home with open arms. It's an example of what Jesus does when we stray away from Him and come back. He doesn't push us away and say that we shouldn't have left in the first place instead He welcomes us with open arms and is happy to have us back with Him. Today, if you know someone has drifted away help show them the way back, but don't let them throw you into the same pit while pulling them up. If you yourself have fallen into that pit know that God is always waiting for us to come close to Him and He will draw close to us. He is only waiting for you to make the first move to show that your faith is still there. Here are some verses to reflect on today. “In the same way, there is joy in the presence of God’s angels when even one sinner repents.”” Luke 15:10 ““So he returned home to his father. And while he was still a long way off, his father saw him coming. Filled with love and compassion, he ran to his son, embraced him, and kissed him.” Luke 15:20 “Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world.” James 4:8 “Don’t you see how wonderfully kind, tolerant, and patient God is with you? Does this mean nothing to you? Can’t you see that his kindness is intended to turn you from your sin?” Romans 2:4
