Godly Peace.

“Jesus responded, “Why are you afraid? You have so little faith!” Then he got up and rebuked the wind and waves, and suddenly there was a great calm.” Matthew‬ ‭8:26‬ ‭

You cannot expect God to be the source of your peace when you're using the world as your source of satisfaction. Think of the story of Jesus calming the storm, He was asleep when the storm rolled in and the disciples woke Him. Jesus then spoke and there was a great calm the Bible says. We want peace and that great calm in the storm, but often times we are the ones creating the storms by trying to fill every void we have with earthly pleasures. You cannot expect God to give you peace when you're filling yourself with earthly things. You get what you are filling yourself with. If you're filling yourself with the world there isn't going to be room for God. It's like filling a glass completely up with water and expecting there to be room for ice afterward. It doesn't work like that. You cannot expect complete peace in all your storms when the storms are being created by your selfish desires and the choices you are making by listening to your flesh. Today, make sure that the choices you're making align with God and not for the world's satisfaction. True peace comes from God alone, the world or anything in it isn't worth your relationship with the One who created you and saved you! Here are some verses to reflect on today. “When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Silence! Be still!” Suddenly the wind stopped, and there was a great calm.” Mark‬ ‭4:39 “Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” Philippians‬ ‭4:7‬ ‭ “You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!” Isaiah‬ ‭26:3‬ ‭ ““I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.” John‬ ‭14:27‬ ‭
