What A Real Christian Is.

“Then, calling the crowd to join his disciples, he said, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow me.” Mark‬ ‭8:34‬ ‭

Going to church on Sundays doesn't make you a Christian, a walk with God daily does. The Bible says that we should pick up our cross daily to follow Him. If God intended for us to only pray, listen to the Bible, and read it on Sunday then He would have said, "Pick up your cross weekly." But He didn't say that He instead said daily. Joyce Meyer has a quote that says, "Just because you go to church doesn't mean you're a Christian. I can sit in a garage all day and that doesn't make me a car." I loved it when I read it because it's so true. Sitting in a building doesn't make you a Christian, but talking to God daily does, reading your Bible to learn all about Him and how you should live your life, and most of all knowing the only way you can be saved is through Jesus who sent the Holy Spirit to us. Remind yourself that going to church is great for encouragement and to be around other believers is great, but it doesn't make you a Christian. Here are some verses to reflect on today. “My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”Galatians‬ ‭2:20‬ ‭ “And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father.” Colossians‬ ‭3:17‬ ‭ “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.” Matthew‬ ‭6:33‬ “The message of the cross is foolish to those who are headed for destruction! But we who are being saved know it is the very power of God.” 1 Corinthians‬ ‭1:18‬ ‭

Wait Patiently!

“Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.” Psalms‬ ‭27:14‬ ‭ If God is making you wait, then wait patiently. Nothing in the waiting is a waste. I remember a time in my life where I was praying for something, I waited years and seem to receive no answer. I waited and waited. Somedays I was impatient and cried all day, other days I waited with patience of steel and praised God for what I knew I would someday receive. Sometimes the waiting is easy, other times it is an uphill battle. Whenever we are waiting we will go through different seasons, but we can count on the fact that God is at work for us. Don't Forget God!

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” Philippians‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭ Don't forget God when you receive what you are praying for. God knows the things that we want the most, and often times He does give us what we want. When God does give us the things we want we have to stop and give thanks. It's like this, if you give someone a gift that you know they have really been wanting, something they will absolutely love, and they don't even say thank you it would hurt your feelings. It would make you feel like they don't appreciate you. If someone asked how they got the gift and they said they got it for themselves it would make you hurt also. When God gives us what we are praying for we need to shout from the rooftops that God done it for us, that He made a way. We need to thank God, telling everyone about it.
