His Promise Still Stands!
“The Lord kept his word and did for Sarah exactly what he had promised.” Genesis 21:1
Abraham and Sarah wanted a child, God spoke to them and made a promise He would give them one. They grew weary in the waiting period, and they decided it would be best for Abraham to have a child with Sarah's servant. She had a son and they named him Ishmael. Later on, God blessed Abraham and Issac with the promised child and they named him Isaac. Although God had made a promise to them they took things into their own hands and decided to make their own way for it to happen. Ishmael was still blessed, but Isaac was the child that God had promised them. How many times in each of our lives do we grow weary waiting on the promises that God has given us and we take things into our own control and create it ourselves. When we do that it does not create the promise from God it becomes something we created ourselves. If you have a promise from God know that God will give you that promise, He doesn't need you to take things into your own hands, He is capable of doing it Himself. Today, don't stress over things that have not yet happened that God has promised you, God will give you all that He has promised at the right time. Don't rush what God is preparing because, at the right time, it will happen. Here are some verses to reflect on today. “Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desires.” Psalms 37:4 “But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted!”John 15:7 “Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that he has promised.” Hebrews 10:36 “Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.” Ephesians 3:20
