Forgive and Forget.
"Love prospers when a fault is forgiven, but dwelling on it separates close friends." Proverbs 17:9
When Joseph was in the pit it was the closest people in his life, his own family, who threw him in there I am sure he felt betrayed, I mean who wouldn't? There will be times in our lives when people that are close to us betray us the most out of everyone. Look at Judas, he was a disciple, he walked with Jesus every day, was a true friend of Jesus, and listened to Him preach but yet still betrayed Him. If that doesn't show you something I don't know what will. The true Son of God was betrayed by a close friend. Don't get me wrong it will hurt, and you'll question why, but in the end, it will be for the best to see now the people they really are. What is important is that you need to forgive people and yourself, and forget the past. Joseph forgave his brothers in the end, and Jesus forgives you for anything you have ever done wrong. You have to turn the other cheek, forgive and forget, and that includes forgiving yourself. One thing I have learned is when God takes someone out of your life, He always sends someone else to be there. He has never expected you to spend your life alone, He will always help you be surrounded by good people. Jesus doesn't expect us to be alone on this earth, He even had close friends that walked with Him daily and watched His miracles. When you're feeling alone, know that Jesus will send you someone, but you have a friend who never leaves, never sleeps, and never is too busy, His name is Jesus. Pray for a true friend, that will be there for you and will push you closer to God, not further away from you. Here are some verses to reflect on today. "There is no greater love than to lay down one's life for one's friends." John 15:13 "A troublemaker plants seeds of strife; gossip separates the best of friends." Proverbs 16:28 "Walk with the wise and become wise; associate with fools and get in trouble." Proverbs 13:20 "As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend." Proverbs 27:17
