The Future Matters.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭29:11‬ ‭

You need to take charge of your own life and make choices that your future self will be proud of. We oftentimes make choices that make the person we are today happy, instead of thinking about if we will be happy with that decision in twenty years. Will your future self be proud of the choices you're making in this moment? Will you wish you had done things differently? Sometimes you have to think of what you will want later in life, not what is now. Now you might be happy but working the same job for years could get boring, are you choosing the person you want to be with based on looks that will fade or on their faith and your compatibility, will the house you're choosing be something worthwhile or something that will constantly need work, and most of all are the efforts you're putting into your relationship with God helping you grow are you putting life above God? Things of this world will fade away, but God is eternal, that is who ultimately chooses where we go for eternity. Today, make choices based on the future not about now. Here are some verses to reflect on today. “Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.” ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭41:10‬ ‭ “Commit your actions to the Lord, and your plans will succeed.”Proverbs‬ ‭16:3‬ ‭ “Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.” Proverbs‬ ‭3:6‬ ‭ “So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.” 2 Corinthians‬ ‭4:18‬ ‭

Wait Patiently!

“Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.” Psalms‬ ‭27:14‬ ‭ If God is making you wait, then wait patiently. Nothing in the waiting is a waste. I remember a time in my life where I was praying for something, I waited years and seem to receive no answer. I waited and waited. Somedays I was impatient and cried all day, other days I waited with patience of steel and praised God for what I knew I would someday receive. Sometimes the waiting is easy, other times it is an uphill battle. Whenever we are waiting we will go through different seasons, but we can count on the fact that God is at work for us. Don't Forget God!

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” Philippians‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭ Don't forget God when you receive what you are praying for. God knows the things that we want the most, and often times He does give us what we want. When God does give us the things we want we have to stop and give thanks. It's like this, if you give someone a gift that you know they have really been wanting, something they will absolutely love, and they don't even say thank you it would hurt your feelings. It would make you feel like they don't appreciate you. If someone asked how they got the gift and they said they got it for themselves it would make you hurt also.
