You Deserve More.

“But the Lord said to Samuel, “Don’t judge by his appearance or height, for I have rejected him. The Lord doesn’t see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”” 1 Samuel‬ ‭16:7‬ ‭

God has so much more for you than you have for yourself. So many times in life we accept the bare minimum just because we think that is what we deserve. Sometimes it's easier for us to see the worth of others rather than ourselves. The reason it's easier to see what someone else is worth is because your worst critic is yourself. You have to come to a place where you realize that you deserve anything and everything that God chooses to give you. This verse is so deep once you really think about it. When we look at ourselves in the mirror we mostly look at the way our face is shaped, the way we smile, our weight, or anything else we judge about ourselves, but God doesn't look at any of that, instead He looks at our hearts, something we cannot see but we know is there. Today, whatever God has given you or given you know that you do deserve it, you are worthy of it. Your heart might be something you cannot see but it's everything that God sees about you. Here are some verses to reflect on today. “Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.” Proverbs‬ ‭4:23‬ ‭ “Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.” Psalms‬ ‭139:23‬ ‭ “Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me.”Psalms‬ ‭51:10‬ ‭ ““The human heart is the most deceitful of all things, and desperately wicked. Who really knows how bad it is?” Jeremiah‬ ‭17:9‬ ‭

“Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.” Psalms‬ ‭27:14‬ ‭ If God is making you wait, then wait patiently. Nothing in the waiting is a waste. I remember a time in my life where I was praying for something, I waited years and seem to receive no answer. I waited and waited. Somedays I was impatient and cried all day, other days I waited with patience of steel and praised God for what I knew I would someday receive. Sometimes the waiting is easy, other times it is an uphill battle. Whenever we are waiting we will go through different seasons, but we can count on the fact that God is at work for us. Don't Forget God!

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” Philippians‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭ Don't forget God when you receive what you are praying for. God knows the things that we want the most, and often times He does give us what we want. When God does give us the things we want we have to stop and give thanks. It's like this, if you give someone a gift that you know they have really been wanting, something they will absolutely love, and they don't even say thank you it would hurt your feelings. It would make you feel like they don't appreciate you. If someone asked how they got the gift and they said they got it for themselves it would make you hurt also.
